Who is Psychedelic Goodz?

Hi there! My name is Rachel and I'm the owner of Psychedelic Goodz. I started doing pyrography and macrame in college about 8 years ago. I wanted to improve my dexterity and mental health by doing activities other than studying 24/7. I was a biology major and eventually even went to medical school. The time I had available to do these crafts while in medical school diminished and I got depressed because of it. I didn't realize how important pyrography and macrame were to me until I didn't have time to do them anymore. Fast forward a semester and I eventually dropped out of medical school. I realized that it wasn't my passion and that creating things with my hands is what I wanted to do with my life. I stayed in Virginia and began selling my items on Etsy and in person at markets and pop ups. This experience has been absolutely incredible and I'm hoping to be able to do it full time eventually. Right now, I'm working full time as a Clinical Research Coordinator and although I do feel like I'm making a difference in people's lives, it just isn't for me long term. I appreciate everyone that has supported me thus far whether that's by purchasing from my shop, or even just liking my posts on instagram. Growing a small business is hard work and I couldn't do it without the support of my husband and of course my little dog named Honeybun.
