Wood Burned Pine Tree Roots

This live edge wood slice was burned by hand and features a pine tree with roots. The grain on the wood mimics a sunset behind the tree. The tree of life represents so much and can mean so many different things to different people. For me, the tree with its branches represents the differences between us, but the roots reveal that there is still a connection, even as we grow/change. What does the tree of life represent for you? This is the perfect gift for any occasion especially for the eco conscious since it is made from natural material!

How it’s made

I use a hot wire pen to burn this image onto the wood slice. No laser printers here! Rest assured that hard work and love was put into your piece. I use a high gloss polyacrylic finish to seal the wood. This will protect the piece from general wear and tear, but it will not protect it from water, sun exposure, or dropping. My favorite part to burn on this piece is the tree roots. It is tedious and you have to be precise. I find beauty in the fine details and I believe that is what makes this piece so unique.
