This live edge wood slice was burned by hand and features the beautiful tree of life. The grain on the wood mimics a sunset behind the tree. This is the perfect gift for any occasion especially for the eco conscious since it is made from natural material! Each piece is unique since this is handmade, but the wood slice will always have at least a five-inch diameter. I use a live edge slice of basswood for every order and I try to obtain my wood locally when possible. Your piece might have a round or oval shape depending on what is available at the time of your order. This item is made to order and may take up to 4 weeks to make. If you need it by a certain date, please reach out and I will let you know if it is possible.

How it’s made
I use a hot wire pen to burn this image onto the wood slice. No laser printers here! Rest assured that hard work and love was put into your piece. The tree of life takes me about 10 hours to make not including sealing the wood. I use a high gloss polyacrylic finish to seal the wood. This will protect the piece from general wear and tear, but it will not protect it from water, sun exposure, or dropping. My favorite part to burn on this piece is the tree roots. It is tedious and you have to be precise. I find beauty in the fine details and I believe that is what makes this piece so unique.
